Match Review: QPR 1 Arsenal 2 - Premier League 04.03.15

Beating QPR was vitally important for Arsenal on a night that saw Liverpool, Spurs, City and (thanks to a last minute blunder) United pick up maximum points. Arsenal cannot afford to drop any points for the rest of the season for Champions League qualification to be in their own hands. A mere seven points separates 3rd from 7th and if Spurs win their game in hand against QPR this weekend then it will be just 5 points.

Match Review: Arsenal 2 Everton 0 - Premier League 01.03.15

Beating Everton was hugely important for us. Not only from the perspective of reacting to our Champions League humiliation, but also with regards to the race for the top four. United’s win had taken them back above us, while Southampton’s defeat presented an opportunity for us to put daylight between us and them. Those results coupled with Liverpool’s defeat of City meant that we could afford nothing but three points against the Toffees.

Match Review: Arsenal 1 Monaco 3 - Champions League 25.02.15

What can you say about Wednesday’s catastrophe? It’s difficult to describe exactly how terrible it was and I don’t think anybody saw it coming. As someone rightly pointed out to me, everyone expected Arsenal to win comfortably and set things up nicely for the second leg, but we’ve been mugged off and been made to look like fools. As I woke up today, the anger had gone and been replaced by crushing disappointment, a brutal realisation that we are nowhere near as good as we think we are. I actually had a tiny, foolish hope that we could win this competition, but Arsenal have duly put me firmly back in my box.
