Match Review: Southampton 2 Arsenal 0 - Premier League 01.01.15

2015 is off to a bad start for the Gunners, as a bare bones Arsenal team imploded and lost at Southampton. We had a chance to finish the tricky Christmas period with maximum points, but the game on Thursday proved a hurdle too far and also means that Southampton retain a three point cushion ahead of us in the league. I suppose the one thing you could say is that things can only get better this year…

Match Review: West Ham 1 Arsenal 2 - Premier League 28.12.14

Arsenal’s win against West Ham was huge for a number of reasons. In terms of momentum, winning over a supposed ‘rival’ for fourth place and in terms of proving that this team can get it done in tough away games. Before the game, I’d probably have taken a draw, considering West Ham had rested players in preparation for this game and that we had been involved in an energy sapping struggle with QPR. But the players really stepped up and there are signs that this team could well be starting to find its best form.

Match Review: Liverpool 2 Arsenal 2 - Premier League 21.12.14

We have been baffling this season. Inconsistent would be an understatement, we’re such a Jekyll and Hyde team at the moment it’s hard to know what to expect from each game. Even after the game on Sunday, I was unsure as to whether I was happy to have escaped with a draw or gutted at giving away a winning position so late on. Whilst it was a worryingly inept performance from the team, a draw away at Liverpool isn’t a bad result and it could quite easily have been an embarrassment like last year. But we failed to hold onto an unlikely victory which would have done wonders for our confidence and been hugely damaging for our top four rivals.
